Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips - Erinnerungen - New, extended edition

A new edition of "Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips - Erinnerungen" was published in March 2024 with an again further expanded content. The reader learns many details and events that have never been told before: personal stories and impressions about Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, which - once again - reveal different perspectives on the man and the legendary racing driver who became the most famous German motorsport driver of the post-war era. Graf Trips competed for several world-famous racing teams: Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Cooper, Lotus and Ferrari - with touring cars, Gran Tourisme cars, racing sports cars as well as in formula racing cars.

Jürgen Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the "Gräflich Berghe von Trips'schen Sportstiftung zu Burg Hemmersbach", and Jörg-Thomas Födisch, his deputy, spoke to additional contemporary witnesses, companions, authors, journalists and fans of the speedy Count for this book in a slipcase, which has now grown to 328 pages.

The memories (Erinnerungen) begin with the words of Dr Karl-Friedrich Ziegahn. He is the current president of the Deutscher Sportfahrerkreis e.V. (DSK), an organisation that was founded in 1958 with the involvement of Count Trips. This article provides a first glimpse into the multifaceted life of the racing count, as he was also concerned about better organisation and the future of motorsport outside the racetrack, but especially about the promotion of young talent.

The following are the notes of the recently deceased Herbert Linge, who was active at Porsche for a long time and also worked together with Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips. The text is written in the first person and the reader seems to be in the middle of an interesting conversation. This structure runs through the entire book and undoubtedly makes it something special.

Further stories by and with Evi Gurney, Eckhard Schimpf, Hans Herrmann, Jo Ramirez, Helmut Zwickl, Heinz Prüller, Peter Falk, Hartmut Lehbrink, David Piper and many more are followed by numerous quotes from team-mates and riders of the time. This includes Phil Hill, Trips' American team-mate from 1958 to 1961, who became Formula 1 World Champion at the end of the 1961 season by just one point ahead of Graf Berghe von Trips, who was posthumously voted Germany's Sportsman of the Year in 1961.
