Jochens Boxengeflüster - Jochen von Osterroth

Having long been fascinated in motorsport, Jochen von Osterroth began his career as a motorsport journalist at the renowned German magazine ‘rallye racing’ in 1972. For many years, his work took him to the venues of Formula 1 Grand Prix races, endurance competitions, rally events and touring car championships all over the world.
 
He becomes an insider who is on familiar terms with scene giants such as Bernie Ecclestone, May Mosley and Mansur Ojjeh. He also developed personal relationships with many legendary drivers such as Ronnie Peterson, Mario Andretti, James Hunt, Niki Lauda, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Gilles Villeneuve and Stefan Bellof, which allowed him to gain an insight into the people behind the hero status.
 
But that's not all: he organised a Formula 1 team for his friend Harald Ertl and was closely involved in the creation of the German Grand Prix racing teams ATS and Zakspeed. So there is a lot to tell and Jochen von Osterroth does so humorously and inimitably in his book. These are background stories and anecdotes from perhaps the most interesting era in the sport - from a time when the motorsport circus was down to earth and the players were still approachable.
