Blu Stratos

More than fifty years after its presentation, the Lancia Stratos remains an absolute icon capable of a transgenerational charm. Marcello Gandini’s lines have made it one of the most reproduced cars in the world in scale models. Its successes in rallying have made it the bête à gagner, the “beast made to win” with an aura of unbeatability that remains so even after other cars – even other Lancias – were more successful.

The Stratos was not only successful entered by the works team. A large number of private teams enetered the cars in many different championships. One of the most recognised colour schemes had the blue Chardonnet sponsored cars - not only because of Bernard Darniches Monte Carlo victory in 1979. This book tells the story of the MFS team, which entered the Chardonnet car, through the memories of team-manager Piero Spriano.

MFS, founded by Claudio Maglioli, Luigi Foradini and Piero Spriano, for ten years supported the Lancia Racing Department in the preparation and assistance of Flavia, Fulvia and Stratos.
