This year's championship initially looked likely to be dominated by Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing, but as the season progressed surprises were in store for fans. The championship came alive with wins for both Ferrari drivers, both Mercedes and both McLaren drivers with Lando Norris becoming the main threat to Max's previous domination. As we headed into the final rounds, Max's lead was under real threat from Lando but Max's skill and resilience came to the fore, his perormance in Brazil was one of his best ever, from 17th on the grid to a 19s win in challenging wet conditions and it was that which allowed him to seal the drivers' title in Las Vegas at the next round. However RBR's hold on the Constructors championship evaporated during the season with both McLaren & Ferrari ahead by the final round, as we now know, McLaren held on to their lead with a fine win for Lando under intense pressure from both Ferrari drivers, so an exciting end to a very competetive championship.
