24 Hours of Le Mans 1923-2023 - Centenary Edition

100 years of Le Mans in fascinating photos, most of which have never been published before – this fine volume is the album celebrating the first century of the 24-hour classic. Whether in black and white or in colour, these particularly vivid images bring an entire world to life: that of the cars, of course, but also that of the many human players – the drivers and the engineers, the mechanics and the always numerous public.

The luxuriously laid-out, large-format book of more than 360 pages is richly illustrated and reduces the text section to five “notebooks” inside, printed on smaller-format coloured paper. The focus, however, is on the consistently excellent photography, done by artists in their field. An airy layout gives the large-format photographs the space they deserve. The work comes in a very special and noble slipcase, in which it can also be presented standing upright on a table.

The authors: Jean-Marc Teissedre, a math teacher by training, once came to motorsports via model making. The endurance expert joined the renowned Autohebdo magazine. He has written numerous books and, together with Thibaut Villemant, is the author of the official Le Mans yearbook. Villemant was Autohebdo’s deputy editor in chief until 2021.
